Clapperboard, hard hat and CCM hi-vis vest Real people. Real roles.

More applicants isn’t the goal. Better-informed ones are.

A job advert can tell someone the pay, hours and location. It can’t show them a 10-hour shift, the environment they’ll work in or what’s expected when they arrive.

When candidates don’t understand the job, they leave in the first few weeks. A recruitment film shows them the real role, so the people who apply already know what they’re signing up for.

One shoot. Every stage of the journey.

Recruit.

Job role films, day-in-the-life films and employee stories for job boards, your careers page and social.

Onboard.

Welcome and induction films so new starters know where to go and what to expect on day one.

Train.

Process and equipment training that every shift sees the same way, from MHE to systems.

Stay safe.

Health and safety films that make the rules clear and stick, without a 40-slide presentation.

Let candidates see the workplace.

For someone who has never worked in a distribution centre or on a production line, the first day can be daunting. Video lets them see it first.

Real people. No actors.
Case study: Ted Baker

The real job, on film.

The brief. Ted Baker’s Derby warehouse, run by GXO, needed a recruitment film that showed people what it’s really like to work there, featuring their recruitment partner Staffline.

What we made. A recruitment film shot on the live warehouse floor with the people who work there, capturing the energy of the site rather than a scripted advert.

The result. A film Ted Baker’s Supply Chain Director said exceeded all expectations, and a client who plans to use us again.

“Chocolate Cake Media delivered a video that perfectly captured the spirit and energy of our Derby warehouse at Ted Baker. From start to finish, the team were professional, creative, and an absolute pleasure to work with. They brought our vision to life with style and precision, delivering a final product that exceeded all expectations. The quality of the storytelling and attention to detail was truly impressive, we will definitely be using them again.”

The question isn’t just “how many applied?”

  1. 1Did candidates understand the role?
  2. 2Did the right people apply?
  3. 3Did more successful applicants turn up?
  4. 4Did fewer leave in the first few weeks?

Training that people remember.

“I’ve worked with Chocolate Cake Media since 2015 on a number of different projects. From Conference Keynote videos, Vox Pop multi-presenter video shorts for website and social media use and videos to support our online training, I have always been delighted with the final results. Scott and his team are always professional, on time and easy to work with. They have a knack of asking the right questions to get the best out of people, making the filming process fun as well as productive. I would recommend them whole-heartedly.”
