Blog • Get noticed

Your competitors are being seen. Is your business?

Be seen.
Be remembered.
From the CCM blog.

Another project on LinkedIn. A product demonstration on Instagram. A customer talking about why they chose them.

When competitors keep appearing in front of you, it can feel as though they are always one step ahead.

Meanwhile, you are busy doing the work. Looking after customers. Delivering projects. Making products. Keeping the business moving.

But how much of that work do potential customers actually see?

At Chocolate Cake Media, we help businesses turn what they do into clear video content that gives people a reason to pay attention, understand the offer and take the next step.

Give people something worth noticing

You know what makes your business good. Someone seeing it for the first time may not.

A photograph can show a finished product. Video can also show how it works, the detail that goes into it and the people behind it.

A short introduction can put a face to your business. A project film can show what you delivered. A demonstration can help someone understand a product before they make an enquiry.

The starting point is a simple question: what do you want potential customers to understand?

Show the work behind the words

Many businesses describe themselves as experienced, reliable or committed to quality. Those words mean more when people can see the evidence.

Show the process. Introduce the team. Explain a difficult problem you solved. Let customers describe their experience in their own words.

Our work with Albert Henry gives us an opportunity to show both the finished products and the people and craftsmanship behind them. In the accompanying testimonial clips, Mollie McGahan shares her perspective on video and working with Chocolate Cake Media.

A customer testimonial gives visitors another perspective as they decide whether to contact you. Place it alongside relevant work so they can see the content and hear from the business involved.

Make content you can use

Before filming, think about where the content needs to go.

Your website might need a clear introduction to the business. LinkedIn might need a short project story. Instagram might need a close look at a product or the people making it.

Planning those uses together helps us capture the material for each one. Depending on the brief, that could mean a main film supported by shorter clips for social media.

Being seen needs a next step

A video should lead somewhere useful.

That might be a product page, a project example, an enquiry form or a conversation about what the customer needs. Decide that next step before the content goes live.

Then look beyond views and likes. Are the right people visiting your website? Are they asking questions? Are you having useful conversations about potential work?

Those are the signals that help you decide what to publish next.

What should more people know about your business?

It could be a service customers overlook, a product they need to see in action or a project that shows what you can deliver.

You do not need a finished script to speak to us. Start with what you want to promote and who you want to reach. On a video planning call, we will discuss your business, the message you want to communicate and whether video is the right approach.
